Classes, Races and Professions
What You Want To Be
In General:
What do Classes, Races and Professions have in common? They determine what abilities your character can learn and use. When you create your character and their starting abilities there will be places to put the class, race and the character's job or profession. You are free to start with or purchase any abilities that make sense for your character's class, race or profession.
Classes:
This is a way to describe or categorize the abilities and skills your character has. When we say classes, we are talking about something like the classes from RPG games. Classes like warrior, mage, paladin, dragoon, etc. Characters can be any class within reason. When we say within reason, we mean that you should not be killing gods. You should not be doing everything with one class. If you are unsure if your class idea will work, ask one of the staff. If your class' name does not suggest what the class does you will need to provide a description of the class.
Races:
Information on races and where they appear can be found in each of the country pages and The World page. That said, members are free to create almost any fantasy race. If you need ideas on where a race could have come from, ask one of the Site Admin and we can discuss it. Keep in mind that half dragon characters are limited to The Chosen canon positions. Dragons are still a valid race since they are different from dragonkin.
Professions:
Professions are jobs or crafts. A profession would be something like miner, alchemist, potion maker, blacksmith, etc. Some professions would logically give a character skills, and so a character can have abilities related to their profession. For example, an alchemist could convert water into flames during combat.
