The World
Ciredia. Its creation. Civilization.
Origin:
Ciredia began with four goddesses. The goddess of war, the goddess of wisdom and the goddesses of life and death. It is through their actions that the lands were constructed. The winds were born. Fires raged. Life was born. Several millennia ago they constructed the planet Ciredia, and ever since it, and the continent of Ciredia, have flourished.
The world was constructed from elemental energy, mana. The properties of that mana decided how the physical world formed. From that mana, the first examples of life were created. Spirits and deities were manifested into the world, embodiments of the elemental energies. Biological creatures followed soon after. As chaos turned to order, the physical world manifested early plants and then animals. They were cultivated and eventually became the races of today.
As those races matured, their governments and politics matured. Countries razed and fell as the world learned which fights were worth battling. This has led to Ciredia’s modern day countries and city states. And yet history continues. These countries continue to grow. Today’s friend is tomorrow’s enemy. It is in this world that you shall reside, and it is this world that you will help develop.
Goddesses:
Ciredia was constructed by four goddesses. The goddess of wisdom, who brought logic to the world. The laws of physics, mana and time were her creation. The goddess of life, who forged life from the world’s mana. Sprites, spirits and plants were her creation. The goddess of war, who granted that life desires, and through those desires they sought power. She created honor and conflict in the world. Then finally, the goddess of death. By her hands, all life comes to an end. She has created the balance between the living and dead in this world.
Though as powerful as these goddesses might have been, their existences have been largely forgotten. Few communities in the world today remember them. Even their names have been forgotten throughout time. Where they are today, no one can know.
Mana:
The world has layers. On one layer is the physical realm that can be seen and interacted with. On another lies the realm of dreams. It is a place that those sleeping and those of calm mind will see. Finally there is the spirit realm, a world bathed in an elemental energy known as mana.
There are many types of mana, and each has an associated element and properties:
Red Mana: Heat and Fire
Blue Mana: Liquification and Water
Green Mana: Wind and Restoration
Brown Mana: Harden and Earth
Light Blue Mana: Cold and Ice
White Mana: Light and Purification
Black Mana: Darkness and Corruption
Yellow Mana: Electricity and Magnetism
Purple Mana: Poison and Decay
Each mana appears most frequently in areas of its associated element. Inversely, the associated element of a type of mana tend to appear in areas high in that mana. In the average place, there is a mixture of many types of mana. Yet, where there is dense mana of specific types there will be tundras, volcanoes, bodies of water and etc.
Geography:
Ciredia is the name of this world. It is also the name of the world’s largest land mass. Four major countries make up Ciredia. They include Asnor to the north, Medina to the west, Gardenia to the east and finally Kagano, a separate island to the east.
The landmass including Asnor, Medina and Gardenia is host to every type of geography. There are tundras and mountains to the north in Asnor. There are long, flat fields and small forests in Gardenia. Deserts and wastes cover Medina. As for Kagano, it is a thick forested island that has caves, lakes, plateaus and mountains.
The exact sizes of each country and their geographical features has been intentionally left vague. This is so that members can world build without limitations. Just know that Asnor is above Gardenia. Medina is to the west of Gardenia and only below a portion of Asnor. There is a mountain dividing Medina and Gardenia that also covers a portion of the border between Asnor and Gardenia.
Gardenia is the largest of the four countries followed by Asnor. Asnor is mostly uninhabited due to its harsh and cold lands. Medina is the next larger, and then Kagano is the smallest of the four.
Surrounding these four countries are smaller islands and countries that do not get involved with the politics of these countries.

Races and Creatures:
Every fantasy race can exist in this world. If you are unsure about a race you want to use, then ask someone about it. Here we will have some common races in the world, and details about them. Then in each country’s page we will describe where those races live.
Humans – Humans, like you. They are an inquisitive, yet short lived race that have taken advantage of tools and ingenuity to survive the elements and develop their societies. Whereas most fantasy universes have humans as a race that can live in any conditions, in Ciredia they mostly live in moderate climates without too many extremes in temperature. Humans prefer to interact with races that look like them. Others are treated like monsters and threats.
Elves – Ciredia is home to multiple different types of elves. Their natures and physique are different depending on where they live. They are the Eevee (pokemon reference) of Ciredia, changing to fit their environment.

Elves – Ciredia is home to multiple different types of elves. Their natures and physique are different depending on where they live. They are the Eevee (pokemon reference) of Ciredia, changing to fit their environment.
Kagani Elves – Elves that washed up on Kagano’s shores many years ago. The thick mana of the island has made their hair and skin glow with vibrant colors. They are smaller than other elves, but they retain the elves’ signature ears. These elves are hunters and spiritualists.
Asni Elves – Elves that have acclimated to the northern regions of Ciredia. Generations in those brutal elements have yielded large and muscular bodies. Asni elves are described as looking monsterous with their long pointed ears, pointed teeth and sharp nails. Each Asni Elf tribe specializes in a form of combat or use of a weapon. The Asni Elves have their own arena, and they send the best of their warriors to Valla to face off against the country’s best.
Medi Elves - Dark elves. Night elves. Dusk elves. These elves make a living traveling Medina’s deserts at night. Large beasts that are dangerous during the day are taken by surprise when the sun sets. During the day most Medi elves sleep inside their cave homes or travel in thick robes from bazaar to bazaar selling wares. Medi elves have dark flesh and thin bodies allowing them to remain unseen at night.

Wata – The Wata, also known as Beastkin, appear to be a mixture of human and animal. Legend has it that their distant ancestors were humans that were cursed upon arriving on Kagano island. Others speak of it as a blessing. The Wata live in small towns throughout Kagano’s Forest. Each town has a ‘Sho,’ a leader of sorts that every villager shows his or her respect to. The greatest honor is in serving a Sho.
Dwarven – A stoutly and muscular race living in Asnor. Though shorter than most races, they all have monstrous physiques. Even the least physical or active dwarven could punch out a grown lion if they needed to. Fortunately they are a laid back race, preferring to live and be merry rather than to fight. Still, there is an expectation amongst dwarven that they should be strong and sturdy. Any sign of weakness will prevent them from traveling through Valla’s gates when their lives eventually do end.
Lizardkin – Lizard people living in Medina’s deserts. Just like normal lizards, they thrive during the hot days and hibernate during cold nights. Most Lizardkin resemble common lizards. However, once every hundred years a dragonkin is born. Lizardkin religion says that the dragonkin are destined to lead their people. At any time there can only be two dragonkin: the current leader and the future leader. In the event that either has an untimely demise, a strange magic will transform a devout follower of lizardkin teachings into a dragonkin.
Sprites – These are the fairy folk. They include fairies, pixies and nymphs. While they may take on physical form, they are mana manifested as life. That means they are heavily influenced by mana, or the lack there of. Older sprites see the world as their children. Younger sprites act just like children. Most sprites do not reach maturity until 100-200 years old.
Spirits/Elementals – Spirits and Elementals are born when mana reacts with creatures, emotions or magic. Powerful beings are born from the element. Some are without minds and will act in response to actions made against them. Others embody strong emotions. The far and few become intelligent and sentient beings that watch the world while never aging.
Deities/Demons – Spirits that have absorbed strong emotion and desires. Those feelings manifest into a creature with its own identity. They become a representative of the feelings that created them. Deities will help the people and lands near where they were born. Demons are known to spread corruption.
Lesser Races – This term refers to races that are humanoid but not as intelligent or strong as the other races. Their lack of military strength has led them to being taken advantage by some of the other races. Yet that really depends on the country. At best, Gardenians see them as slaves or servants. At worse they are called monsters. Asnor will accept any lesser race that wishes to trade or fight. Others are not welcome. Medina does not distinguish between races. Kagano’s races keep to themselves and avoid interacting with others.
Lesser races include goblins, orcs, ogres and trolls.
Other Races – Other races should be compared to one of the above races. Vampires would be similar to elves. Anything that is part animal should have an origin from Kagano. Werewolves would be cursed versions of the races above. Talk to staff if you have other ideas.
Guilds and Classes:
Each character will have a class. It describes what abilities or occupations they can have. To have certain occupations, a character will expected to remain registered and license with a guild. There are guilds for artisans, explorers, knights, mages, thieves, hunters and mercenaries. There may be other guilds, or groups that function like guilds. Not having the correct license could lead to clients being weary of your character, or governments seeing them as a danger to society.
Out of character, the guilds are meant to give characters reasons to meet others with similar lives. That said, characters are not required to hang out with others of the same guild. There are also no requirements for characters to check in with their guild.
