Biography
try to believe to know what you are
One particular sect of feline Wata hailed from a town slightly smaller in comparison to those inhabited by others. Their Sho finally and inevitably passed away. However, this stoic and reserved individual chose no successor nor did he produce any offspring. The result was the seeking of a new Sho, but the means to which this particular tribe relied upon involved delving into Jusen Lake. Its inscrutable waters were sought to elicit, within potential and willing applicants, a reaction grand enough to serve as a telling sign of who the next Sho should be.
Leucadia, a female Wata of this tribe was one of the applicants to brave the lake’s waters. Doing so spawned absolutely no reaction whatsoever, something, if true, would have been impressive in its own right. So, she was not chosen. Another was. However, Leucadia would eventually come to realize that it most certainly did have an effect. She possessed ambition with a fiery spirit, but held little interest in finding a mate. So, her pregnancy came of the utmost degree of surprise for she had never laid with another individual.
Leocadio was born; a virgin birth. This miraculous circumstance trumped the display the current Sho exhibited at Jusen Lake, but the ceremony had already come to its conclusion. Even still, the new Sho harboured a certain disdain for what he felt, deep down, was likely the tribe’s true chosen leader and he was not alone. Leocadio’s mother was conflicted. A bond between her and her son existed, but so did she seek the position she suspected her son was destined to claim.
She never asked to have him in the first place.
Leocadio possessed a more animalistic appearance than many others and appeared to attract strife, misfortunate upon himself even from birth. He acquired contempt mere moments following his entrance into the world. He found himself assaulted by slews of judging eyes; both him and his mother in actuality. Leocadio eventually lashed out in response, becoming troublesome by engaging in acts of theft, mostly of food. One venture as a child led to a chase amidst the town’s rooftops, pursued by the shopkeep he had stolen from. Having slipped and fallen, he held the roof’s edge and was so frightened as his pursuer meneasing approached, he lost control of the contents of his bladder and who was it that happened to be beneath him at the time?
The Sho.
This sealed his fate. To show such disrespect, even unintentionally, to the Sho was unforgivable, especially since it was Leocadio of all people who had done it. The virgin birth of a cursed Wata; one cursed to bring misfortune and chaos. This was the lake’s effects upon Leucadia. Leocadio’s life was one filled with physical and mental abuse. He pursued bushido brazingly, a means of becoming a force to be reckoned with. With one of his later classes breaking out in a fight with him at the center, Leocadio barely managed to escape intact. He walked a thin line between conflict and peace and stumbled upon it frequently.
Injured, bloody, Leocadio, in a moment of desperation, made his way to the source of all his strife; Jusen Lake. He heard rumours of its effects and hoped that as he threw himself into the waters, he would be bestowed with healing. As his sword-wielding pursuers came to a halt around the lake’s borders, they were forced to shield their eyes from the figure rising from the lake’s surface. Leocadio rose and came to rest comfortably atop its surface, shrouded in vivid white light with his attire furling in the winds his presence appeared to be evoking. For Leocadio, the water brought not only him to its surface, but his own talents to surface as well.
As a purifying light washed over him, whatever curse had been inflicted upon him dissolved. Those standing against him with swords at the ready stood dumbfounded, unable to understand what had made them so angry to draw steel against one of their own; but the damage was done. Leocadio did not miraculously overcome the hardships his life brought him, but instead had grown twisted by them. He did not avoid pain, but invited it, seemed forever gleeful, frivolous. He acquired a sense of wanderlust following Gardenia’s short-lived and uneventful invasion, having never considered a world outside of the island. He held no interest in remaining on the island either, sought to abandon it along with his tribe mostly out of spite. Leocadio found one of the Hunters’ Guilds that had appeared on Kagano and enlisted himself with the intention of fleeing the island alltogether.
