Despite the somewhat favourable weather the afternoon presented, the sun only scarcely disappearing behind the curtaining clouds drifting by in their characteristically dismissive manner, all was not well. Progressing down mountain paths on foot was a man with an attire that suggested that he was a mail carrier. It was strange that he did so not on horseback, but on foot. Stranger yet, blood stained his clothes and seemingly, the blood did not seem to be his own. There was genuine panic on his face, a panic blended with fatigue and desperation. His panting was more than apparent, especially as he attempted to veer out of the way of a clothed, bipedal cat that was moving up the path in opposition to the frantic man. He failed and instead, collapsed into the arms of the beastkin, who clearly made an effort to catch him before he contacted the less-than-merciful ground. “Woah there! It must be my birthday…” The words were spoken with a tone that obviously contrasted the situation. In fact, they were entirely ignored by the individual who eventually found his footing again. He looked back for a moment. Nothing but a passing gale caught the ears of either. “It isn’t chasing me anymore…” he muttered to himself. “Hm? Chasing you?” asked Leocadio as his eyes settled onto the spots of blood staining his clothes. Noticing the stranger looking at something very suspicious, he continued. “It got my horse, but I just ran!” He reached into the bag he was carrying, strapped around him. Fishing out a piece of parchment, he nanded it to Leocadio. “Oh my… what manner of beast is this..?” Senator Valorian , AMBROSE

David was riding on his lizard as he arrived to the two people there. One of his oracles had given him a tip on that there was a man here that needed help - and doing errands like these really helped his standing among the Asnor people!
The reptile soon slowed down and leaned to a side to have the armored mage drop off as soon as they were in the proximity of the cat and the man here.
"Yo." the Senator greeted, as he rose a hand and with his other, removed his helmet to reveal a warm smile. "I've heard that you were in trouble."
"Oh, hello there, Wata. Are you too in trouble?" he wondered. His oracles hadn't told him anything about this small guy - maybe they weren't as reliable as he thought they were after all?

While Leocadio plucked what both useful and interesting information he could from the parchment, another’s presence grew more and more apparent as they approached. The to-be delivered bounty posting buckled to the shift in position Leocadio made as he turned partially to place the approaching figure in his sights. What fell into view was a mounted stranger clad in armour. A semblance of a greeting ensued while the helmet was removed thereafter. A faint pur escaped a now distracted Leocadio, sly in expression with the low rumble bleeding into his response. “Oh, my… Why, hello there,” he began as he prepared to address his query. “No need to fret, this paper I’m reading isn’t proving too troublesome - not enough to enlist another for aid. Now, for completing what it is this is telling me, maybe. After all, it is this deliveryman here who appears to be sporting blood on his clothes.” He was slightly amused at the idea of being asked if he required aid as he stood next to a bloodied, panicked deliveryman. In fact, he giggled for that very reason before turning to the man. “I’ll hunt this beast, which means you may carry on your way - though, I suggest returning to town. You’ve already had a close encounter, hm?” The man nodded in response, turned and started back. Senator Valorian

"Ho, Yeah." David then replied with a chuckle. "I'm glad that you're not hurt too."
This cat's accent seemed... Kaganian? He seemed like a fighter too - he could tell from his physique. He wondered why he was here - Asnor was more of an exporter of mercs, rather than an importer. Warrior culture and all. Or maybe he had come here to learn from the best? Or get that famous dwarven steel, first-hand? Curious. It wasn't every day that he met a battle-ready foreigner around here.
He then looked at the bloodied man leave. "Take care now, sir!" he called out with his usual chipper tone, raising a hand, keeping face.
"Anyways." he then continued and looked back to the cat. "So, what does the paper say?" he asked. "And what's this about a beast? Seems interesting. A pity that the other guy won't join us."
"Oh, I'm David Valorian, by the way." he mentioned, offering a handshake. "Head of the House here at Asnor."

But a subtle look, curious, surfaced complete with simper as the political figure mentioned their relief at his ostensibly well-being. It was a difficult face to read, but there was, no doubt, a fleeting hint of surprise nestled into the expression of the beastkin. He needed not to see the delivery person off. His company had done so already, after all, and but a moment passed before query was made of the piece of parchment Leocadio passively held in his possession. He turned the paper around for the stranger to see. “It talks about a creature called a Nue; supposedly powerful. It’s been giving this cute, lil’ ol’ town here some grief and with nobody unable to fell it - well, looks like they were seeking some help from outside.” With his initial response out of the way, an introduction was made. It was clear most of it sailed over the beastkin’s head. Leocadio’s expression persisted with its usual simper, but his hesitation and then the slight tilt his head fell upon was likely more than enough to display his ignorance towards what it was this individual was speaking of. He did gather that the person was important; it was just a position of power his race did not possess. “Oh, my. Well, it’s very nice to meet you, Mr. Valorian.” Leocadio replied. He figured enough of the paper had been read, so he put it into one of the jacket’s pockets. "My name is Leocadio." Senator Valorian
