Hey. Cruel World
There had been a good amount of hustle-and-bustle with the explorer's treasure hunt caravan. Folks of both or the latter's specialty had been gossiping this or that ever since they'd left the capital, boasting tales from the back of their horses or from underneath the protection of the canvas. They'd been that way since the day before, singing songs about adventures and glittering hidden treasures that the other parties hadn't found until now- even from her place hovering above them all she could hear the boasting laughter. She'd found it relatively entertaining during the travel to the ruins, even if the dragonkin hadn't involved herself with the chatter just yet... not to say they didn't throw a few comments her way.
Upon reaching the ruins however showed the real promise. Most of the areas had been excavated, the towers and broken walls decorated with ancient murals stood obscured amongst the great stone walls of the southern slopes. Grey stone contrasted greatly against the lighter quarried stone of the old man-made constructs... well, what was left of them anyway. The main treasure hunter party had gone into the depths of one of the larger buildings, more than half of it obscured by a rock slide eons past. A few holes showed where there had been windows, wooden betrayed the inside to some kind of familiar yet out-of-date design. What it had been- no one knew for sure.
Some speculated a temple, others thought it a garrison- Bel wasn't sure herself though she'd made herself part of the 'temple' faction if only for the corpses of broken stone statues littered deeper within. Stairs led to lower floors, most of which were still trying to be dug out via more resources from the Explorer's Guild. Historians and scholars made their temporary homes outside in little temporary shacks of transported wood or more basic tents.
Bel had been waiting outside with the caravan, perched delicately on the ledge of the cliffside; looking down at at the denizens of Asnor and others working away. As a treasure hunter she had no doubt that if it hadn't been for her contract, she'd have been down in the deeps with the others. That was a far more exciting prospect than just waiting for the burly musclemen to bring up the artifact a previous digging group had discovered. Yet here she was, testing all the patience her young mind could muster... though it didn't really appear so, what with the thick of her tail grinding and crushing the softer ledges of her perch. Or the fact that she'd begun to chew the nail on her thumb... Soon... very soon...

(not sure why i did not get the tag pop up but found it when i updated the site and looked over the new area of asnor)
Amber had been at the temple site for quite some time before the real party had arrived to the temple, she had walked around down with the guys that were digging looking for all kinds of minerals and crystals, even a few mushrooms had she found down there. She could maybe use some of the materials she found, some of the minerals might even have been some kind of amber, she had actually been sent there in the first place to gather materials for the store, but since she was on the way back soon she had signed up for an escort job on the way home.
Then she could get to see what they were actually looking for in this god forsaken mountain range, she had gotten quite a few eys from the workers since its not often you see a young girl who sparkle and leave areas of ice behind her where ever she walks.
one of the foremasters had even told her to get out of the dig site, due to the workers tripping on the ice. But she did notice that a few of the guys had found something rather big and she decided to follow em outside into the sun, she took off her hat and look up at the sky with a wide smile. "Such a good Weather, i hope it does not start raining, that would be such a shame" she then took her big hat on again and followed the guys as they walked towards the caravan and did drop the artifact on the wagon.
"So it was that big thing i were waiting for to go home, good to know" the young girl could almost not look over the wagon she was tall for her age, but then again still quite small compared to many people since she were only 13.
She could then hear some noises from the other side of the wagon, sounded like smashing the ledge that was already quite steep. so she did crawl under the wagon and then layed there under it with wide eyes as she noticed whatever it was it had wings, which was kinda amazing. She had never seen something with wings on there bag before.
The young girl then got out from under the wagon and slowly walked closer to the winged person, and said "Hello there" Amber did notice when she got closer it was a female figure, but she did not really care what it was it had wings which was kinda amazing.
she had left a trail of ice all over the dig site from where she had walked so it was easy for the foremaster to find her when he wanted to say the escort was ready to move.
[Her Passive makes her steps create a thin layer of ice behind her, and her skin sparkly a faint blueish color]

Hey. Cruel World She'd been waiting patiently, or as much as possible; watching folks go about their business. The driver for the wagon had gone off to talk with a few of the people who'd already been on-site, the camp followers had already begun to renew the wagon's stocks as well as replenish the ones at the ruins with what excess they did bring for that. At one point she'd caught the sight of something... unusual, or at least; it was more unusual to see such a large hat outside the capitals. A scholar perhaps? An unusually small one for this area but where there was a sharp mind, there were people ready to put it to use. Plus the dragonkin hadn't seen any such person like that amongst the caravan she'd traveled with, so that only left that option in her mind.
And just as quickly as she'd spotted the person from her perch, they'd disappeared. A curiosity indeed... if even more so by that strangely sparkling trail they'd left. Her eyes caught on the light rather than taking the effort to search again. No doubt they must have merely gone to the other side of the wagon, probably talking with one of the excavators or something. No matter- the girl quickly lost her interest soon enough, returning to impatient grinding. Her eyes still trying to make out just what that sparkling path was until it had all but eventually evaporated to nothing. Magic? More of a curiosity. There had certainly never been anything quite like that back home!
The dragonkin had been getting ready to slide on down from her little post, wings stretching out from their idle state. The soft slide of leather rustled as each finger spread out the durable peach of her wings. Ruby flecks shined in the sunlight, offset by the black cracks among golden veins. The obsidian of her wing's scales shimmered and greedily sucked in the light as her eyes caught the toughened figures of the lifter-men. Four of them, carrying what would undoubtedly be what she'd been hired to guard. Already Bel could feel her mouth watering at the prospect, the little piece of history that was lugged and carefully slid into the back of the wagon. She leaned to better catch a view, the thumb of her wing snagging into the cliff to balance her idly.
They covered the artifact with a secondary canvas before tying it in ropes. A statue perhaps? It was large enough for that. Or maybe some kind of ancient mirror? A recently dug up treasure chest? Oh the possibilities were endless! Already her blood was pumping with the excitement, her cat-slit eyes sparkling in anticipation-
Until a voice not only shook her free of the daze but startled her bad enough to cause a slip. The dragonkin dug her claws into the short ledge of her seat, both wings stabbing into the rockside while her tail hung down uselessly. There had been a gargle of weird sounds to escape her all during that moment before she could catch herself enough to finally look around. The big hat. There it, no- she; was again. A greeting?
"Hello..?" Bel managed to reply between heaving herself back up and taking a deep breath for herself. "Um, can I help you?" Was all that the dragonkin could muster out from behind her shame. Her cheeks already going pink from just thinking of how pathetic she might have been seen as, being startled by a greeting of all things! Oh the Lady Red was probably so ashamed of her dragon daughter... though the Lady Green might have been laughing her mirth to the high heavens... Bel didn't really want to know. Shaking her head of the thoughts, the girl had opened her mouth to say more- only to get cut off by a sudden shout from the caravan master.
"'ey! The packing's good! We're gettin' ready to make away, best c'mere and lookit the map before we go, eh?!"
The elderly man held a sea-folk's accent, his bronze skin showing days of the same kind of travel long put behind him. He waved to both the girls from his spot over by a table with two more excavators and a scholarly looking lady. All of them looking in the direction of their guardians, though Bel herself hadn't made that connection quite yet; giving the girl before her a "Duty calls-" before fluttering out her wings and pushing off from her spot.
Her wings had beat rapidly for a few moments, catching only still air until she gave up some ways; letting them stretch out glide her down a few short steps away. Meeting up with the small group, only to find them waiting for the appearance of the second.

Amber had gotten told time and time again by her work place to behave around strangers, but its hard for her to not be excited when she spots new things, be it minerals bombs or people, no difference they are all the same to her, but today it seemed like she were going to be followed home by a scardy-cat dragon.
The young Apothecary was about to respond to the dragon as the caravan master would speak up, she smiled and waved at the dragon person and went over to the caravan master and took a quick look at the back, having left quite the icy spot beside the dragon lady from having been there for a few moments, the trail of ice followed her over to the caravan. She would then crawl up into the wagon so she could actually see the map.
"So which way would you normally take, mister??, cause i normally takes the road around the mountain instead of over it, even tho the road over the mountain is much faster but there is a lot more bandits lurking up there in the narrow pathways and they have the perfect spots for ambushes, and we can't have the good being stolen"
The young girl said looking back and forth at the map then the caravan master all the while she pointed at the two paths.
But she were no expert on mountains and caravans but it would be easier if there were less bandits to deal with on the way back, since she would probably not be able to cast her spells in these areas due to accidentally setting off a rock slide.
She looked back over her shoulder with a smile towards the dragon person she still did not have a name on. "What do you say miss?, walk on the edge or take the short path right through the mountain??"
The caravan master look at the girl as if he was a little lost on words, cause he had just now found out they had hired a kid to protect them.
""Soo little missy are you going with us as civilian or our guard??" he asked her
She would respond with a smile as she looked at him and said "I'm here to protect you off cause, why would you even ask that?, its that often you see someone with such a pointy hat out here"

Hey. Cruel World Bel had watched in silent curiosity to see big hat join them, truth be told; it never occurred to her that the second of their guarding troop would such a frail looking girl. The dragonkin blinked her surprise, narrowing her eyes thinking that it might've just been a trick or illusion fooling her. The other would be able to see her round pupils suddenly squeeze into slits, becoming mere lines when she focused them too hard. The ache she felt and the resulting reality slapping her the face only left her with a sense of defeat and an unpleasant dizziness when she had finally let them return to their original states. No matter, she could deal with that and it never lasted long. A few seconds at best.
Her eyes had wandered over to the path the girl's trail made, the shining white and blue of something foreign to the desert denizen. It drove a hungry curiosity from her, barely smothered by her need for propriety whilst in front of clients. Otherwise the lizard-born was fairly sure she might have not been able to hold herself back from the temptation of digging at it. Her claws were itching to do so the longer she kept her attention on it.
Thankfully mercy would come in the form of the girl's question, a fellow inquiry that Bel had echoed mentally. The dragon bobbed her head, tearing her gaze away from the shiny wonder back toward the man whose wagon they would have to guard.
"Aye well, normally we'da taken the faster path. The treasure hunters get impatient when we try other paths." The scholar leaned over the map, sliding her finger directly across what they all knew would've been bandit country. Thus the guards. She eyed the map when the big hat made her description, giving slow thoughtful nods in silence. The others had managed to more or less ignore their driver's stunned expression upon seeing the girl who put in her input, though Bel had found herself still unable to keep herself from a few glances toward the strange girl's way.
That was, until she desired her opinion. The Chosen straightened her spine, her tail flicking with the sudden request. "Me?" She'd echoed lightly, pausing to think; a clawed finger tracing the roads written on the maps. "Honestly, from an aerial view; the mountain path is faster but like you said- it's more dangerous. I've seen a lot drops and skinny paths that'll be a risk with how heavy that thing is." She jabbed a thumb toward the bed of the wagon. "If we take the side-route we could avoid the bandits but we'll still have to deal with the narrow paths. Plus I don't know what exactly is on those roads, danger-wise. We could be faced with some flying monsters or maybe a group of the lesser races turned to banditry as well..." Her voice trailed, letting a the silence build up while her mind calculated the risks.
"We should try the side-paths. If anything we won't have to worry about bandits with mounts capable of scaling these cliffs. And I don't really want to deal with the arrows they use." Bel settled, sharply pointed claws tapping lightly at her chin. She looked to the rest of the party, waiting for approval or refusal. Their driver broken that silence with his still stupefied question, a legitimate one if Bel's opinion had been required; now the whole party turning to look at the girl as she made her reply. "In that case, we'll be allies on this trip back. As such proper introductions are in order- I am Bel. Bel Lockhart, Dragonkin of Medina. You are?"

The young girl sits at the floor of the wagon and just listens to the dragonkin talking, nodding a few times as she finally gets to the conclusion of taking the long road even tho it might be longer. when she asks her for her name she stands up and pulls off her hat as her long brown/black hair falls out from under it.
"Pleasure to meet you Miss Bel. I'm Amber Grim, an Apothecary Apprentice and Wizard" she would respond to the introduction and then take on her hat again, and then she would take the map and fold it and then give back to the wagon master.
"So Bel, are you ready for this adventure i did see you looked a little taken by the sparkles on the ground, your sure your okay to do this??" she would say before sitting down beside the artifact they were to escort.
"you can take the high road and look out for monster from above then i take place beside the driver to make sure nothing gets in the front be it rocks or monsters"
She would then wait for Bel to come aboard the wagon or take flight before giving the signal to the driver for him to start moving the wagon so they could get to town.
The young girl would open one of her pouches and take out a gem she had found in the ruins and look at it, and start studying it to find out of she could use it for any kind of potions or explosives. she had a little time before they would reach the crossroad anyway so she had some time to figure out if it were just a normal gem for jewelry or one she could smash to powder and make all kinds of fun stuff.
